Professional Carpet Systems & Professional Restoration Systems is a second-generation, family-owned and operated company serving Connecticut since 1987. Our staff holds certifications from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), the Vortex Drying School, and Reets Drying Academy. We are focused on education and regularly attend training and refresher courses to keep our staff informed on the latest drying techniques.

Our mission is also to provide our clients with a rapid and well-organized response to their emergencies. We accomplish this by always maintaining professionalism, integrity, and honesty with those we serve. We are there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

About our owners

Amy Prihoda

Professional Carpet Systems & Professional Restoration Systems co-owner, Amy Prihoda

Amy Prihoda is the co-owner of Professional Carpet Systems & Professional Restoration Systems. Her primary focus is the growth and development of the company. She works closely with her team to ensure a positive client experience to enable the company to continue to grow. However, Amy is not afraid to get her hands dirty — sometimes, you will see her in the field helping her team to ensure a happy client service experience.

She attended Western Connecticut State University and obtained her Bachelor in Business Studies in Management Information Systems. Upon graduation, she began her career as an IT Auditor with Deloitte. However, in 2002, she moved from her corporate position to return to the family business. Since then, Amy has worked to develop systems to help the company operate more efficiently. She has also created marketing content to grow the business and train business development and inside sales team members. She enjoys speaking with clients to understand how their service experience.

Amy lives in Oxford with her husband, Rob, and daughter, Skylar. Their son, Giovanni also lives locally. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, cooking, and traveling.

Curtis Bloxam

Curtis Bloxam is the co-owner of Professional Carpet Systems & Professional Restoration Systems. His focus with the company all relates to production. Curtis is responsible for managing the day-to-day field operations to ensure that teams are getting out on the road with all the critical information they need to be successful in their day. He works closely with our production staff to ensure an unsurpassed client service experience.

Upon graduation from Masuk High School, Curtis immediately began a career in the construction industry. He worked for several local construction companies before returning to the family business he grew up in. In the beginning, Curtis was the go-to Cleaning & Restoration Specialist for the company. He gained tons of knowledge and experience in the field through hard work and obtaining his certifications through the IICRC. Curtis holds many certifications through the IICRC for all the services that we offer. He also has obtained his Journeyman Water, Fire & Smoke Restorer, and Master Textile Cleaner designations. Additionally, he is also a certified Senior Carpet Inspector. Today, Curtis uses his knowledge and experience to train and develop our team members' skills, enabling them to be successful in the field.

Curtis lives in Oxford with his wife, Holly. He is an avid lover of the outdoors. When he is not angling for the perfect catch or navigating the open seas, you will often find him cherishing moments with his family, creating lasting memories through shared adventures and quality time together. Traveling to new destinations fuels Curtis' curiosity and allows him to explore other landscapes, cultures, and cuisines while enriching his life with every journey.

Fritz Thompson, the National President, has developed four national carpet cleaning franchises and is on the board of directors of the Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians. He is certified by IICRC, the world's most recognized organization for the restoration and cleaning industry, in over 14 categories, including Master Textile Cleaning Technician, Master Water Damage Restoration Technician, and Master Carpet Inspector. Plus, all our technicians are individually certified by the IICRC as Carpet Cleaning Technicians. Never use a company that is not certified by the IICRC.

Our owners and staff also hold many certifications from other drying schools, including Vortex Drying Systems and Reets Drying Academy. We are also very involved in our associations and cutting-edge training. We bring all of this information directly to your job site.

We offer both traditional drying systems and a Temperature-Focused Drying System™. Our Temperature-Focused Drying System™, or TFDS™, uses specifically applied heat to dry the structure. This drying system is faster than traditional drying systems because we focus on heating and drying only in wet areas and do not attempt work on dry areas, carefully restoring water-damaged structures faster.

Plus, the equipment we utilize in our business is Gold Level Approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute's (CRI) Seal of Approval Program. This means that the equipment we use to clean carpeting, upholstery, and tile has the highest level of measurable soil removal.
